Program Overview
The Information Technology Apprenticeship Incentive Fund (TechXcel) provides incentive payments to Registered Apprenticeship sponsors that expand participation in approved information technology (IT) occupations.
How to Apply
- 1.Review the Approved IT Occupations List
- 2.Confirm your Registered Apprenticeship program includes approved IT occupation(s)
- 3.Complete the Sponsor Application
After application is approved:
- 4.Execute a Sponsor Agreement
- 5.Meet program requirements and request incentive payments
Program Requirements
To be considered for incentive payments, Sponsors must:
Review the Approved IT Occupations List (PDF) to confirm your program includes an eligible occupation.
- Enroll apprentices in approved IT occupations
- Grow apprenticeship participation beyond prior enrollment levels
- Ensure apprentice enrollment begins on or after July 1, 2026
- Retain apprentice in their Registered Apprenticeship program for a minimum of 90 days
